About Dan Cake

FAMILY-OWNED AND LOCALLY OWNED. Dan Cake is locally rooted in central Jutland - where the company was founded. From here, freshly baked cakes, tarts and swiss rolls are delivered daily to cake-loving Danes all over the country.

Baked in Denmark, enjoyed everywhere

Back in 1931, founder Jens Eskildsen set the initial "Dan Cake ingredients" for long-term baking in the small town of Simmelkjær. At first, it was just a regular, classic bakery.

However, as the smell of the cakes - and word of mouth - spread, the small bakery moved to Give, 60 km to the south, to expand and meet demand.

Dan Cake is still a committed part of the Give region. And we are a well known guest on coffee tables all over the country. And abroad. Even the newest generations have grown up with us. That makes us happy, proud and grateful.

Tradition flavored with innovation

When you treat your guests to one of our sweet creations today, every bite tastes like a carefully measured mix of classic Danish cake tradition and fresh innovation. That's the secret to Dan Cake's continued success - almost a hundred years after our first baked goods were lifted warm and fragrant from the oven: the delicious and familiar intertwined with the new and innovative.

We started out as a bakery shop, soon became successful wholesaling cakes to other bakeries - and then evolved into the nationally renowned "cake company" we are today.

When we launched the first lemon half moon in 1968 - and when we from 1972 started producing roulade - sales and demand really took off.

We owe this success in particular to generations of cake-loving, quality-conscious customers. But we also owe a big thank you to our enthusiastic employees - a large group of dedicated enthusiasts, many of whom are celebrating their anniversaries here. Some have even been with us for over 40 years.

Our certifications

High quality and food safety in production

The most important thing about certifications is the difference they make. So our certificates may look nice, but in reality, we're most proud of the fact that they make a difference to someone. For example, that they support local production in a number of developing countries so that some farmers there can send their children to school. And that cocoa producers there receive higher payments from us, so they can enjoy a higher standard of living.

Check out our certifications - and see how we work with everything from sustainability to occupational health and safety.
