We're not there yet, but Dan Cake has sustainability as an important goal on the horizon. There's a lot of focused work ahead of us. We are continuously testing and implementing measures that require less energy and help us conserve resources.
Good workplace, environmentally friendly consumption and good raw materials: Three important CSR ingredients
The right, well-chosen ingredients are both the foundation of all good cakes and Dan Cake's approach to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) - the way we take responsibility for our surrounding society and local environment. Here are our three most important ingredients: environmentally friendly consumption, a good workplace and good raw materials.
ECO-FRIENDLY CONSUMPTION
Dan Cake continuously invests in energy improvements and CO2-reducing measures. For example, we reuse the surplus heat from our baking ovens and production to create space heating in our production. And when you dive into our various certifications, you will gain insight into several of the focus areas we are already working on.
GREAT PLACE TO WORK

GOOD RAW MATERIALS
Well-chosen quality ingredients have always been central to Dan Cake. It's not enough that our products taste good, they must also be made from raw materials that can stand up to scrutiny. That's why we have strict requirements for all our suppliers. Everyone should have a good taste in their mouth when Dan Cake is served.
Recycling waste heat
In collaboration with NRGi, we have focused on reducing our energy consumption and carbon footprint. Therefore, NRGi has designed an energy-saving ventilation project where they recycle the surplus heat from the ovens and production, so that the heat can be used to create space heating in the production. No thanks to food waste
Did you know that we use all the swiss rolls, sponge cakes and other classic cakes that have been discarded because they weigh too little, for our truffles?
This way we avoid throwing away freshly baked cakes and say NO to food waste - while you get a premium truffle!
Focus on sustainability
Whether we have just acquired new, less environmentally harmful machines or ovens, have reorganized parts of our production so that heat is recirculated or something else - we always strive to reduce our environmental and climate footprint and offer our customers sustainable and tasty quality products.
